Namibia ranks second globally for greenfield investment performance
Namibia’s 2026 greenfield investment ranking signals strong international investor confidence and growing interest in new projects.
SOURCE SIGNAL
The Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board reported on 30 July 2026 that Namibia ranked second globally and first in Africa in the 2026 Greenfield FDI Performance Index published by fDi Intelligence.
The index assesses how effectively countries attract new foreign direct investment projects relative to the size of their economies. Namibia attracted 16 greenfield investment projects during 2025, its second-highest annual result.
COUNTRY IMPACT
The ranking indicates that Namibia is attracting a greater share of new international investment projects than its economic size would ordinarily suggest.
Growing interest across energy, mining, logistics, renewable energy and other sectors strengthens Namibia’s visibility as an investment destination. Maintaining that momentum will still require reliable infrastructure, regulatory certainty, skills and efficient service delivery.
RELEVANCE TO SUNGATE
The ranking is not an endorsement of Sungate and does not guarantee investment in the development.
It does, however, reinforce the wider national investment environment within which Sungate is positioned. Strategically located, investment-ready land can become increasingly relevant as new projects, businesses and service providers seek suitable locations from which to operate.
